Okay, on a slightly less surly note, what else is new ...
New car's still good.
Kitties are hanging in there - Martha had to have NINE teeth pulled (eep!), but she's feeling much better. Morris has had a relapse of his fungus problem (the vet says he's still pretty stressed), but it slowly improving.
Work sucks ass.
I'm turning into an eBay addict. I had two arrivals today - Babyshambles'
Down in Albion (you can only get it here as an import, at a painfully premium price... a new copy through eBay, WITH postage, was a whopping £9.98. I can live with this!), and a 1970 vinyl copy of the Who's
Live at Leeds... complete with the original glorious heap of inserts. That's a happy thing that the $40 ultra-deluxe CD didn't have.
And after however many years of trying to grow my hair out, I had it lopped off on the weekend. *grin* Pictures forthcoming soonish, when I'm not looking like grim death from a painfully sore shoulder that doesn't want to get better. The hair had been a pisser for months - breaking off and falling out
everywhere, no matter how much I babied it ... shortly before my birthday, I came across some webcam pics I'd saved of myself from about 4 or 5 years ago (with short hair) and almost fell over when I saw how
very much older I looked. :-( Haven't been doing so well in the self-confidence department lately. A week ago, I had a good couple of inches lopped off to hopefully make it a bit healthier (it was shoulder-length before the first cut), and that felt
great for a couple of days... then back to falling out/breaking.
So screw it - I look old, I'm spending a fortune trying to keep my hair healthy, and it just doesn't suit me. So OFF it all came on Friday evening, and it is now quite short indeed (although not the buzzcut some of you might remember from a few years back, thank goodness - I do still look like a girl), and I love it. My only gripe with it is that all the really blonde bits are gone, and since the majority of the remaining hairs have never seen the light of day, they're pretty much the colour of mud, rather than the goldyness they once were. (
dianer would say it's 'sandy blonde', bless her, but it's mud-coloured, it really is. But it's good to have a friend that's willing to brave the slime to find the pearl in the oyster *grin*) But that's okay - even a bit of light will make a difference there.
Now I just need sleep, and for my bloody acne to clear up. I am
far too old for this foolishness.
*yawning* Oooh yeah. Muscle relaxants are finally kicking in. Joy. ;-)
Toodles, dears - I'm off the clamp on the headphones and put
Fuck Forever on 'repeat' for the next couple of hours. ;-)
